Terms of service
These terms govern access to and use of the PDF Parse API (the “Service”) provided by FRACTAL SOFT sp. z o.o. (“Fractal Soft”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, buying credits, or calling the API, you agree to these terms.

2. The Service
The Service is a developer-oriented API and dashboard that accepts PDF uploads, runs asynchronous parse jobs, and returns structured JSON (and related artefacts). Features, endpoints, and limits may evolve as we improve the product.
The Service is a commercial product. Access does not grant you ownership of our software, models, or infrastructure, and does not make the parser engine open source.
3. Accounts and API tokens
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and API tokens.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access; revoke compromised tokens in the dashboard.
- We may suspend accounts that pose security, abuse, or unpaid-risk concerns.
4. Credits, pricing, and payments
- Usage is billed via prepaid page credits purchased through Stripe Checkout (packs such as €1 / 100 pages and €5 / 1,000 pages, as shown on the pricing/billing pages).
- A successful parse debits credits equal to the document page count reported by the job. Failed jobs do not debit pages for a successful parse.
- If your credit balance is empty, API submissions may be rejected (HTTP
402) until you buy more credits. - Credits are non-transferable. Unless required by mandatory law, prepaid credits are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where a payment error or Service defect attributable to us makes a refund appropriate.
- Prices are in EUR as displayed at checkout. Taxes may apply depending on your status and Stripe Tax / invoicing configuration.
- Payment processing is handled by Stripe; their terms also apply to the payment flow.
5. Your content and rights
- You retain rights to files you upload and to outputs generated from them for your use of the Service.
- You represent that you have all rights and lawful bases needed to upload and process the files (including any personal data they contain).
- You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit your files solely to provide the Service (parse, store briefly, deliver results, secure and operate the platform).
- Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy policy.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service for unlawful content or purposes;
- attempt to probe, disrupt, or bypass security or rate controls;
- resell raw access to the Service in a way that disguises yourself as us, without a separate agreement;
- upload malware or content intended to harm our systems or other users;
- scrape or attack the Service beyond normal API use.
We may throttle, refuse, or terminate access for violations or abuse.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify features, maintenance windows, or these terms. Material changes may be announced via the Service or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires a different process.
8. Retention
Source PDFs are purged after approximately 7 days by default. Job metadata and results may be retained longer so you can retrieve outputs and audit usage. You should download and store results you need for your own records.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that extraction will be complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose (including legal, medical, or financial decision-making). You are responsible for validating outputs before relying on them.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fractal Soft is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for loss of data beyond our stated retention practices.
Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for credits in the three (3) months before the claim, or (b) EUR 100 — except where liability cannot be limited under mandatory law (for example intentional misconduct or liability that Polish law does not allow to be excluded).
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Fractal Soft against claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
12. Termination
- You may stop using the Service and request account closure by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate access for breach, legal risk, non-payment, or prolonged inactivity.
- Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Poland have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protections assign another venue. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may also have rights that cannot be waived by contract.
